About This Project
Insulwatt Band Heaters use a combined heater band and insulated jacket that protects itself, you, and the environment, while at the same time returning enormous energy efficiency savings. The Band Heater Jacket is used for Band Heaters which are constructed by winding a nickel-chrome resistance ribbon around mica insulation and encapsulated in a stainless steel sheath. It is then formed to the desired diameter for installation over a dies, barrels and nozzles. They are available in an extensive variety of sizes and shapes with options for holes, notches and cut-outs. A number of threaded terminals, wire lead options and terminal boxes offer great flexibility for field wiring.
Brief:
The Insulwatt patented heater uses the proven core technology of ceramic or mica heaters combined with a highly efficient Teflon coated insulation. Our clients Insulwatt asked us to create alkaline resistant jackets.
Specification:
Hot Face (inner) – Pure woven silica cloth.
Insulation – Pure silica wool (38mm thick).
Outer Face – Teflon coated woven glass cloth.
Stitching – Stainless steel with a kevlar overbraid thread.
Closures – High temp nome velcro.
